About Sentinel5
Sentinel5 is a web directory built around a simple premise: that a careful, methodical log of websites — organised by subject and kept free of ranking and scoring — has lasting navigational value. The name reflects that orientation. A sentinel observes and records. This directory does the same.
The field record currently holds 828 entries spread across twenty-two subject sections, from medical and dental services to industrial supply, from leisure travel to legal practice. Each entry is submitted by the site owner and reviewed before being added. The directory does not accept payment for placement and does not weight entries by traffic or popularity.
Each section of the directory carries its own descriptive notes — a brief account of what has been logged there, how many entries are on record, and what range of services or trades those entries represent. These notes are intended to help visitors orient themselves before browsing, in the way that a field notebook entry orients the reader before they read deeper into the record.
Submissions are open. If you operate a site that fits within one of the twenty-two sections, you are welcome to submit it for review via the submission form. Approved entries are added to the relevant section of the field record and remain listed without charge.
Sentinel5 does not claim to be comprehensive. No directory is. What it offers is a browsable, categorised reference — a documented slice of the web, kept in the tradition of the open web directory and maintained with the care of a field notebook.
